Deniz Undav insists it mattered little to him that he failed to end his goal drought on Saturday, emphasising that the most important thing was Stuttgart’s win against Bayer Leverkusen.

VfB Stuttgart claimed three much-needed points in the Bundesliga with a 4-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
Captain Deniz Undav provided a neat assist, but was unable to end his Bundesliga goal drought, having yet to score in the league this season.
However, the striker insisted that his lack of goals was the least of his concerns.
“It’s completely irrelevant to me. First, we need to get out of this difficult period. Once things start going better again, the goals will come too,” Undav told Sky after the game.
“I’m happy that we won – that’s the most important thing. I’m proud of the team for the performance we put in. Given what we’ve been through recently, it wasn’t easy,” the 30-year-old added.
His goal drought is limited to the Bundesliga, as Undav has scored twice in all competitions this season. He last found the net in Wednesday’s 1-0 DFB-Pokal win over SC Paderborn.
