A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona on Saturday hit a long-awaited personal benchmark in the club’s colours. This came upon Rodri breaking his duck in the assists column in Blaugrana colours.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Deportivo Alavés to Catalunya’s capital for a league clash.
Hansi Flick’s troops headed into proceedings desperate for a bounce-back result, following back-to-back defeats across all competitions. And when all was said and done, this is precisely what they managed, courtesy of a 6-1 romp.
The aforementioned Rodri featured from the off in the fixture, from his berth at the base of midfield. And as alluded to above, during the 2nd-half, the 30-year-old hit a personal milestone for his new club.
After laying on Anthony Gordon’s late 6th, Rodri registered his first-ever assist in the famed red and blue of Barcelona.
