The 36-year-old’s decision could have a big say in the German champions’ goalkeeping situation.
Sven Ulreich will stay at Bayern, but it remains to be seen in what role and his future could have an impact, according to BILD.
In the next few days, there will be discussions on whether he will extend his contract and continue as backup for Neuer and Urbig.
Alternatively, the former VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV shot-stopper could retire and continue at Bayern in another role.
Depending on Ulreich’s decision, the Bavarian giants will decide whether to recruit a new goalkeeper as their third-choice.
Should Ulreich retire, the club would almost certainly sign Hendrik Bonmann from Ludogorets.
Die Rekordmeister were already linked with former BVB goalkeeper Bonmann only a handful of weeks ago.
As confirmed by both clubs on Monday, Daniel Peretz has joined HSV on a year-long loan, ruling him out of the equation.
