Tottenham set to part ways with performance director Gretar Steinsson

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to part ways with performance director Gretar Steinsson as they continue to make changes off the field.

This is according to the Daily Mail who claim the 41-year-old’s role at Spurs is under huge threat.

The former Iceland international was brought in by Fabio Paratici last summer, having previously worked at Everton and Fleetwood Town.

Paratici left the club as managing director of football earlier this year amid an investigation into alleged financial corruption at Juventus.

Following the Italian’s departure, Steinsson is also set to leave North London as performance director.

Tottenham have also seen a lot of changes in recent months as they continue restructuring behind the scenes.

They confirmed Scott Munn will be joining as their new chief football officer next month. The Australian will act as chairman Daniel Levy’s second in command and will handle all football-related decisions within the club.

The North Londoners’ academy manager Dean Rastrick stepped down from his position to pursue new challenges, with Simon Davies replacing the English expert.

Spurs failed to qualify for any form of European football after a disappointing 2022-23 campaign saw them finishing eighth in the Premier League.

Considering their heavy spending in the summer, the Lilywhites spectacularly failed to do well last term.

They have now appointed Ange Postecoglou as their manager, but the Australian boss faces several challenges this summer.

The biggest of them all is to sort out the future of Harry Kane. The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

With just a year left on his contract, Spurs could either cash in on him now or face the risk of losing him for free next year.
