Tottenham join hunt for Barcelona star

Barcelona star Marcus Rashford has made his way onto the transfer radar of Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

This comes amid mounting suggestions that the Englishman could depart Catalunya’s capital upon the season’s close.

Frontman Rashford of course made the move to Barcelona this past summer, on a year-long loan from Manchester United.

The 28-year-old has since gone on to enjoy an impressive stint in Spain, to the tune of 15 direct goal contributions in all competitions.

With the Camp Nou brass working with a limited budget, and Raphinha having taken back starting duties from Rashford since returning from injury, though, the latter’s future is far from certain.

And in the case of Barca making the call not to pursue a permanent transfer, waiting in the wings with an offer of their own are understood to be the aforementioned Tottenham.

As per a report from Fichajes, citing English outlet Caught Offside:

‘The situation has led Tottenham Hotspur to express their readiness to step in if Barça decide not to retain the striker.’
