Sport1 reports that Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba and are planning to make a new offer.
The offer for the 24-year-old is expected to be around €45m plus add ons but the bid is likely to be rejected as Leverkusen want more. Tapsoba’s current contract expires in 2026 and the club are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old after already losing winger Moussa Diaby to Aston Villa this summer. While Tapsoba’s defensive partner Jonathan Tah is also looking to leave die Werkself this summer.
Tapsoba could potentially join fellow Bundesliga centre-back Micky van de Ven in North London this summer. It has previously been reported that the Wolfsburg centre-back is to join Tottenham after agreeing personal terms with the club.
The race is on to complete a deal for the centre-back as Leverkusen will likely not want to start their season in two weeks time missing a centre-back and will need to source a suitable replacement for Tapsoba if he is to leave.
