As previously reported, Bayern Munich had identified Genoa centre-back Radu Drăgușin as a potential target this January. However, the record champions were facing competition from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur for the Romanian’s signature.
It has now become clear that, as reported by Sky Germany, Der Rekordmeister look set to lose out on Drăgușin to the English outfit. This is because Tottenham are on the verge of agreeing a €25 million deal with Genoa, including bonus payments.
Nevertheless, Bayern are not completely out of the race to sign Drăgușin, but they are running out of time. Christoph Freund, Bayern’s sporting director, is conducting talks with the 21-year-old’s representatives; however, no formal offer has yet been made.
As well as this, despite Drăgușin preferring a move to the Allianz Arena, as reported by our colleagues at Get Italian Football News, no verbal agreement has yet been reached between the two parties. Therefore, Bayern may need to turn their attention to other targets, such as Eric Dier and Nordi Mukiele, if they are to land defensive reinforcement this January.
