Timo Horn (30) has been without a club since his contract at FC Köln expired in the summer but, according to Salzburger Nachrichten, the German goalkeeper is expected to join RB Salzburg.
At first, a move for Horn was rejected by Salzburg officials but after it emerged that current No. 2, Nico Mantl (23) would join Viborg on loan, the Austrian side are now in the market for competition to Alexander Schlager.
Horn will start training on Sunday and will sign a contract until the end of the Admiral Bundesliga.
Although a prominent player for FC Köln, Horn, who played just 120 minutes of football last season, was eventually replaced by Marvin Schwäbe under Steffen Baumgart in 2022.
Born in Köln, Horn represented his boyhood club at every level, and went on to play 329 games across all competitions, keeping 91 clean sheets. He would play 201 times in the Bundesliga, and also represented his club in the Europa League.
