As reported by Sky Germany, Tim Breithaupt is set to stay at Karlsruhe for the rest of the season as they need him in their fight to stay in the 2.Bundesliga.
Earlier on in the window, Karlsruhe rejected an offer from Augsburg for the 20-year-old that was around €4 million. It is also reported Borussia Mönchengladbach are very interested in signing the midfielder in the summer.
Breithaupt has played in all of Karlsruhe’s games this season assisting once and scoring once as well. However, Karlsruhe are only one point above the relegation zone. The midfielder made his debut for Karlsruhe in 2020 and is a product of their youth academy.
Augsburg’s interest in the midfielder is due to the impending departure of Carlos Gruezo. While for Gladbach the future of their midfield is in doubt. Manu Koné is being tipped to leave Gladbach in the summer and it is unknown whether Gladbach will make Julian Weigl’s loan permanent.
