Rangers signed Ryan Kent for a huge £7 million fee from Liverpool back in 2019, but now they are set to lose him for nothing this summer. The English footballer has been a key member of the first-team over the years, with over 200 senior appearances to his name. However, his levels have dropped this term with the 26-year-old scoring just three goals in 29 Premiership appearances.
The winger’s contract at Ibrox will run out at the end of this month and below we look at three possible destinations for him.
Burnley
Burnley are set to play in the Premier League next season after a spectacular 2022-23 campaign saw them posting 101 points to lift the Championship trophy. Vincent Kompany reportedly wants Ryan to be his first signing this summer but will the prospect of playing for the Clarets be appealing for him?
The left winger will be able to showcase his skills in the Premier League, arguably the best football league in the world. But he will likely face tough competition at Turf Moor with Morocco international Anass Zaroury also on their books.
Leeds United
Leeds have failed to secure Ryan’s signature on a couple of occasions in the past. But with his deal expiring this month, they are likely to be linked with an interest once again.
The Whites have been competing in the Premier League since earning promotion in 2020. But they could lose their top-flight status by the end of this campaign with the Yorkshire outfit sitting 18th in the table having 31 points from 36 matches. If they drop to the Championship, a transfer for the former Liverpool player looks highly unlikely.
Fenerbahce
Turkish side Fenerbahce have also been credited with an interest in Ryan. In fact, Tuttomercatoweb recently reported they have also made an offer for the 26-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether the Rangers star accepts their offer and moves to Turkey. We believe he will likely want to move to a club in England where he was born.
