When reports linking Julian Nagelsmann to the soon-to-be vacant Paris Saint-Germain dugout first surfaced, former France striker Thierry Henry was tipped to move to Paris as well to become the former Bayern Munich manager’s assistant.
Despite a discussion taking place between Nagelsmann and the former Monaco manager last week, the chances of Henry joining are now slim to none – although the German coach could still bring a former French international with him should he eventually join the Ligue 1 champions.
Asked about the reports while on punditry duty during the Champions League final with CBS Sports, the 45-year-old has denied being in talks with anyone regarding the prospect of joining PSG:
“I saw a lot of people talking for me, when I didn’t speak to anybody. Nobody.”
Henry went on to lament that a report on his contract with CBS was then used to speculate on his future. Nevertheless, Nagelsmann remains the favourite to succeed Christophe Galtier in the French capital – although talks with the 35-year-old, who remains contracted to Bayern, are far from being finalised.
