Saudi Arabia has been the big player in the transfer market this summer. Even though they may not have spent as much money as the Premier League, they have certainly caused the biggest shockwaves in football.
Numerous high-profile players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Karim Benzema now play their football in the Middle East, and the reputation of the Saudi Pro League is ever-growing.
Not everything is rosy though, Relevo have reported. The outlet have stated that an agent of several players who have made the move to Saudi Arabia has come out and said that conditions are far from ideal.
“Everyone is going to want to go back in six months,” claimed the agent. He said that the players have no entertainment, and sit in their hotel rooms all day watching TV.
Families of the players are unable to go and visit, due to issues with visas. The sweltering heat in the country makes it difficult to train and unappealing to be outside for any other reason than to play football.
