The DFB, German football’s governing body, has handed down a two-match ban to VfB Stuttgart defender Ameen Al-Dakhil.
Stuttgart informed their fans via a social media post today ruling out the Iraq-born, Belgian defender until late April.
Al-Dakhil was dismissed by referee Deniz Aytekin in the 57th-minute after a risky challenge on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.
As the last man back, arbiter Aytekin was left with no option but to brandish the red card as Stuttgart went on to lose 1-0.
Al-Dakhil will now be sidelined for the Swabian’s away game against Bochum (April 5) and home fixture against Werder Bremen (April 13).
