Stefano Pioli unlikely to last beyond this season at Milan

Milan manager Stefano Piol’s job at the club is uncertain and it seems likely that he will not be the club’s manager by the beginning of next season.

The Rossoneri were dumped out of the Champions League recently and earlier this week, they lost to Atalanta and were knocked out of the Coppa Italia in the quarter-finals as well. The club’s only chance at silverware is the Europa League, with a title challenge in Serie A seemingly out of the picture.

Luca Bianchin has reported that Pioli’s future is essentially doomed. The club’s executives will have a decisive meeting during the spring regarding the Italian’s future but the club is ready to bid farewell to the Scudetto winning manager, with an exit now said to be rather ‘obvious’.

The Europa League and top four in Serie A remain objectives but even if they are achieved, it seems as if something is ‘broken’ in the relationship between the two parties and it seems destined to end at some point this season.
