Stefan Savić is on schedule to recover for Atlético Madrid’s match against Sevilla, report Mundo Deportivo.
The Montenegrin defender was injured during Los Colchoneros’ match against Villarreal on the 21st of August, which the Madrid-based side eventually lost 2-0.
Savić has missed six games since then and with José María Giménez being injured as well, Axel Witsel was forced to continue playing as a centre-back.
However, according to the latest reports filtering through from the Ciudad Deportiva de Majadahonda, the 31-year-old returned to train with the rest of the group this morning.
Medical staff predict that Savić will be fit to make an appearance against Sevilla, Atlético Madrid’s next match in La Liga after the international break on the 1st of October. It is believed that both Giménez and Thomas Lemar will also be available for the fixture.
Sergio Reguilón is expected to remain sidelined following his pubalgia surgery that he underwent in August.
