AS Monaco Academy graduate Soungoutou Magassa (19) is set to extend his deal with the Principality club until 2027, according to RMC Sport.
Magassa has enjoyed a breakthrough at Monaco this season. The France U20 international notably made an impressive appearance earlier in the season, coming on for Les Monégasques with his team down to 10 men, and helping the side salvage a draw against Stade Rennais. His most recent appearance came as a substitute during Monaco’s 2-2 draw against FC Nantes, whilst he also started in the Principality club’s Coupe de France tie against Rodez.
The Diagonale Academy product’s current deal expires in 2024, and the club have been looking to tie Magassa down to a more long-term deal. RMC are now reporting that after weeks of discussions between the club and the player’s representatives, Magassa is now set to extend until 2027.
Magassa has yet to definitively break into the Monaco first-team, and despite travelling daily with the pros, he continues to feature for the club’s Groupe Élite, notably during Monaco’s 3-2 victory against Chelsea U21s last week. However, his long-term future looks to lie at the Stade Louis II.
