Sevilla targeting Nice’s Billal Brahimi

According to Foot Mercato, La Liga side Sevilla have held discussions with OGC Nice over the signing of Billal Brahimi (23).

Since his arrival from SCO Angers 18 months ago, Brahimi has failed to nail down a starting spot at the Allianz Riviera. Despite some impressive appearances from the bench, he has lacked the consistency to play himself into contention for a starting spot on a regular basis.

Nice have strengthened their attack with the signing of Jérémie Boga (26) on Tuesday. The Ivory Coast international’s arrival could see Brahimi fall further down the pecking order. There is therefore a possibility that the Algerian international will leave Les Aiglons this summer.

Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace were previously cited as an interested party. It is unclear whether this remains the case in the wake of the club’s takeover by BlueCo. However, Sevilla have shown the most definitive interest thus far. According to Foot Mercato, the La Liga club have gone so far as to contact Nice regarding Brahimi. No concrete offer has been submitted for the winger, who is valued between €4-6m. The French publication reports that other teams in Germany, Italy, Spain and England are also interested.
