After a 15 minute hat-trick against Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy has set a Bundesliga record.
With his 11th, 12th and 13th league goals of the season, no player has scored more Bundesliga goals than Guirassy after seven games, according to Opta, with every other player managing a maximum of 11 goals.
What’s more staggering is that Guirassy is just three goals away from equalling the tally of last season’s top scorer in the Bundesliga, with Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku tied for 16 goals.
After going 1-0 down against Wolfsburg, Guirassy equalised for Stuttgart from the spot before showing excellent balance and composure to round Koen Casteels to give his side the lead. The Guinean forward then completed his hat-trick in the in the 82nd minute, again showing composure and confidence in front of goal to put Stuttgart top of the Bundesliga on Saturday evening with Bayer Leverkusen playing FC Köln on Sunday afternoon.
