Despite a 3-0 defeat against Hoffenheim on Friday night, Frank Kramer will remain Schalke head coach for their DFB Pokal game against the same opposition on Tuesday.
Schalke have lost their last four Bundesliga games: 1-0 vs Borussia Dortmund, 3-2 vs Augsburg, 4-0 vs Bayer Leverkusen and 3-0 last night. After a lengthy discussion and analysis between club bosses following Schalke’s defeat on Friday, they’ve decided to stick with Kramer, for now.
Although four consecutive defeats, Schalke improved against Hoffenheim, especially offensively. They hit the post twice and two of the three goals that the Royal Blues conceded against Hoffenheim came from penalties.
Kramer (50) was appointed in the summer but should S04 put in another poor performance, similar to their 4-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, Kicker report that there could be a new coach against Hertha Berlin in eight days. Former Bochum coach Thomas Reis is a current favourite.
