According to La Journal Du Centre, Sadio Mané (31) is set to complete the purchase of Championnat National 2 club Bourges Foot 18. The Senegalese attacker has been planning to invest in a football club and has taken the decision to invest in the French fourth-tier outfit.
Initial contacts between the former Liverpool attacker and Bourges Foot president, Cheikh Sylla, took place three years ago when the club was formed. However, the Al-Nassr forward has just committed to becoming the majority investor at the club based in Bourges. Mané has also been in contact with the mayor of Bourges as the Senegal captain looks to build a successful footballing and social project within the town.
Final agreements are now in place and a press conference has been lined up at Bourges town hall on the 25th of October to announce the former Southampton winger’s takeover of the National 2 club. The money Mané invests into the club should allow Sylla to find some new recruits after a difficult start to the season. Bourges currently sit in 13th place of Group B in the Championnat National 2.
