Villarreal CF are reported to have made SV Elversberg’s David Mokwa (22) one of their top priorities in the winter transfer window, according to information from L’Équipe.
Having come through the ranks at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, the French striker left France in 2022 to join TSG Hoffenheim, where he made his professional debut in January 2025. After moving to Elversberg a year later, Mokwa played a key role in the Saarland club’s promotion to the top flight, scoring a brace against Münster on the final day of the 2. Bundesliga.
An undisputed first-team regular under Vincent Wagner, the Bagnolet-born player has already scored two goals and provided one assist in seven Bundesliga matches. His progress has been noted by several major European clubs, including Villarreal, who are looking to revitalise their squad.
Having been called up to the France Under-21s squad for the upcoming matches against Italy and England, Mokwa remains under contract with the Schwarz und Weiß until 2029.
