A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has made his way onto the transfer radar of Italian outfit Napoli. This comes amid the understanding that the Partenopei have set their sights on the signature of Gavi.
Midfielder Gavi is for his part in the midst of what has been a challenging campaign in Catalunya’s capital to date.
Amid the stiff competition for places in Barcelona’s midfield, the 22-year-old has fallen out of favour under the watch of manager Hansi Flick.
All told, Gavi has been afforded starts in just two of the Blaugrana’s fixtures in all competitions.
And such woes, it would appear, have not gone unnoticed in Serie A… As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Italian outlet Calciomercato:
‘Napoli have set their sights on Gavi. Their sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has already tested the player’s environment to find out his future plans and explore a possible operation in case the homegrown player fails to regain the prominence he wants in Hansi Flick’s team.’
It is also noted, however, that neither Gavi himself nor Barcelona are interested in going their separate ways at this moment in time.
