Roma have now agreed a contract with Italian striker Andrea Belotti.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have provided some details about Roma’s chase of Belotti, claiming that the striker is set to sign a three-year deal at the club and an agreement of €2.8 million per season has been reached between the two parties. Any bonuses can be added on top of that.
It is stated that Belotti rejected attempts from both Valencia and Villarreal because he had an agreement with Roma. Jose Mourinho had a chat with the striker on the phone and both expressed their satisfaction for working with each other. Signs are pointing in the right direction regarding the move.
It is also stated that Mourinho also tried to sign Belotti twice before. The first attempt came when he was the Tottenham manager and he had informed Daniel Levy to move for the ex-Torino man. The move didn’t materialise then and when Mourinho initially joined Roma, the club tried to sign him even then.
The Giallorossi now have to sell one player between Eldor Shomurodov and Felix Afena-Gyan before signing Belotti.
