Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes is confident that Xabi Alonso will remain with the club next season.
Alonso has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Tottenham, but Rolfes is not worried about losing his coach.
“We are happy that he is with us. And that will be the case for a while. I have no worries about that at all,” Rolfes told Bild TV.
“He has a contract with us – also next year,” the 41-year-old added.
“I have no idea what the future holds. But he is a coach with us. He is very, very happy with us.”
Alonso took over as Leverkusen coach in October. His contract expires in 2024.
