The French Football Federation (FFF) is on the hunt for a new Director General, following the dismissal of Florence Hardouin. According to RMC Sport, the selection process is now down to several candidates who will go to a final interview on 19th April.
Headhunting firm Spencer & Stewart has selected several internal and external profiles for the position.
Among the candidates are Jean-François Vilotte, Erwan Le Prévost, and Charline Avenel. Vilotte is a lawyer and former Director General of the French Tennis Federation, while Le Prévost is the only internal candidate, having worked as Director of Institutional Relations at the FFF.
Avenel, Rector of the Versailles Academy, is the only female candidate among the finalists and is known for her commitment to fighting violence against women.
Former Minister of Sports, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, was also interviewed, along with Nathalie Nénon-Zimmermann, former Deputy Director General of Olympique de Marseille. However, neither of them made it to the final round of interviews.
A working group consisting of Vincent Labrune, Vincent Nolorgues, Jean-Michel Aulas, Pascal Parent, and Laura Georges will interview the finalists, with each candidate given 45 minutes to convince the group. The President of the FFF, Philippe Diallo, will have the final say in the selection process. The FFF hopes to have the new Director General in place by early May.
