Reportedly, the right winger is returning to Germany as Freiburg are set to snag the Japanese star. Doan found success for Arminia Bielefeld tallying 5 goals and adding 3 assists in the 2020/21 campaign. He’s continued this excellent form at PSV as he’s scored 11 goals with 3 assists in all competitions this year.
Doan’s contract in the Netherlands runs until 2024 so Freiburg will be forced to pay close to his €8 million market value. Doan would join a list of exciting wingers in the Black Forest that includes Vincenzo Grifo, Roland Sallai, Woo-yeong Jeong and Kevin Schade.
Freiburg have now officially acquired the services of FC St. Pauli’s Daniel-Kofi Kyereh for €4.5 million. With reports of Doan’s transfer flying around, Freiburg are clearly gearing up on the offensive end to prepare themselves for a European battle.
