Bayern Munich today confirmed that Sacha Boey (23) will be sidelined for the coming weeks after suffering a large tear in his hamstring during training.
Boey joined Bayern from Galatasaray in a €30m deal last month. Since his move, the Frenchman has played 109 minutes across two games, both of them in the Bundesliga.
The 23-year-old is the latest player added to the Rekordmeister’s growing injury list. Thomas Tuchel is already without Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Konrad Laimer and Alphonso Davies, leaving them short in several areas across the pitch.
Make or break for Thomas Tuchel?
It’s also a difficult time ahead of Thomas Tuchel. Bayern Munich have lost successive games for the first time this season and while still backed by club officials and players, a poll conducted by Bild, with 370,000 participants, shows that 82% have voted against Tuchel being the correct person for the coaching role.
Tuchel has already suffered as many defeats (10) as Julian Nagelsmann in just 43 games, compared to Nagelsmann’s 84.
Five points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern face Bochum, RB Leipzig and Freiburg in the Bundesliga before hosting Lazio at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League return leg in three weeks time.
