Borussia Dortmund veteran Marco Reus has not given up on a return to the national team.
Marco Reus has spoken about the possibility of being recalled to the German national team.
The 34-year-old veteran has not been called up to represent his country since November 2021, but is ready if his services are needed by new Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Speaking to the Viertelstunde Fußball podcast, hosted by former BVB star Kevin Großkreutz and football commentator Cornelius Küpper, Reus said:
“If my performances are still good enough, you should never say never. I leave everything open. Why should I say no if my body says yes?”
“I have a good relationship with Julian [Nagelsmann]. Julian is a very, very good coach. He has proven that in the past.”
Reus has three goals and an assist in five Bundesliga games for Dortmund this season.
He has 15 goals and 14 assists for Germany in 48 international appearances.
