Ligue 1 side Rennes want a reported €20m for Bayern Munich target Mathys Tel, according to Bild.
The French side have already rejected Bayern’s opening offer of around €7m – Rennes would be willing to do business for around €20m, but it’s unclear if this is a base fee or a total fee including bonuses. But it’s confirmed that Bayern’s previous offer was deemed too low.
Tel (17) has two-years remaining on his current Rennes deal and is considered an exceptional talent, having been capped for the French youth teams. Per our colleagues at Get French Football News, the Ligue 1 side would only allow the forward to leave should an exceptional offer be received.
We can expect Bayern Munich to be busy with less than five weeks until the Bundesliga starts. They’re currently working on a deal for Matthijs de Ligt (22) whilst an opening offer to Juventus is expected to be made in the coming days. There’s also a possibility that Konrad Laimer could join this summer with Rennes’ Tel a potential third signing before the transfer window shuts on September 1.
