The latest comments on the part of Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola are no doubt set to pique the attentions of all of a Real Madrid persuasion late on Sunday.
This comes after the Spanish tactician provided an update on the wellbeing of star defender Kyle Walker.
Stopper Walker, of course, was forced to sit out earlier this week, as City battled their way to a 3-3 stalemate in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final showdown with the aforementioned Real.
The England international was included in the Sky Blues’ Premier League squad to face Luton Town on Saturday, but failed to get off the bench over the 90 minutes.
Ahead of welcoming Carlo Ancelotti’s Blancos to The Etihad for the return leg of their continental tie this coming Wednesday, it therefore came as little surprise when Pep Guardiola was today drawn asked for the latest on Walker’s wellbeing.
And the former Barcelona tactician went on to reveal that, though the 33-year-old is ‘feeling much better’, he remains undecided on his participation against Real Madrid.
This comes with Guardiola desperate not to put Walker at risk of missing the season’s final weeks through a setback:
“Kyle Walker feels much better, maybe he can help with minutes against Real Madrid because it’s a final”. “But I don’t want to lose him for a long time… we will decide in the next days.”
