Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger looks set to miss a whole host of high-profile fixtures over the weeks and months ahead.
This comes after the German was struck down by an injury blow.
The name of stopper Rüdiger has taken its place centre stage in the media headlines across Spain over the last 24 hours.
As much comes after Real Madrid released a statement, confirming:
‘Following tests conducted on Toni Rüdiger by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his left leg. Awaiting further development.’
Whilst Real Madrid did not themselves announce a timeframe for Rudiger’s return, ensuing reports suggest that the former Chelsea man is likely to be sidelined for around three months.
And across this stretch, Rüdiger will miss a whole host of headline fixtures.
Between now and December, Real Madrid are due to face, amongst others, all of Atlético Madrid, Villarreal, Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool and Marseille.
