A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has today been afforded a call-up by his country for the upcoming European Championships.
The player in question? Arda Güler.
Youngster Güler, of course, has exploded onto the scene in Spain’s capital over the course of recent weeks.
Finally afforded a prolonged opportunity to impress by head coach Carlo Ancelotti, the 19-year-old has grasped as much with both hands.
All told, across his last seven La Liga appearances, Güler has racked up six goals, including a brace at Villarreal last time out.
Long considered a shoo-in for Turkey’s Euro 2024 squad no matter his form, it should therefore come as no surprise to hear that, on Friday, the midfield sensation has indeed been called up.
Joining a whole host of recognisable names from across the continent, Güler has been included in Vincenzo Montella’s ranks for this summer’s showpiece tournament.
