The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid appear to be on a collision course with one of the club’s out-of-favour stars, regarding their respective plans for next season.
That’s according to Relevo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Dani Ceballos, it is understood, has set his sights firmly on a Real departure in the summer.
Disillusioned with the lack of playing time being afforded to him across the most crucial stretch of the campaign, the former Arsenal man has gone as far as to request his entourage to seek out interested parties.
One such club keeping a close eye on the situation, meanwhile, are none other than Real’s city rivals Atlético Madrid.
Where, then, does the impending problem lie between Los Blancos and their disgruntled engine room star?
In the fact that Florentino Pérez and co, as things stand, have no intention of granting Ceballos’ wish to move on.
Despite his lack of game time of late, the 27-year-old is considered the perfect player to round out Carlo Ancelotti’s options in the middle of the park.
With Luka Modrić’s future in the balance, and Arda Güler tipped for a season away from Madrid on loan, Ceballos’ presence is deemed a needed one by Real.
Not only that, but the Spaniard’s decision to put pen to paper on a new contract just last summer strengthens the hand of the Blancos brass ever further.
With Ceballos determined to move on in search of a more prominent role, something of a falling out between the parties could in turn be on the cards over the coming months…
