La Liga giants Real Madrid have been made aware of the financial outlay that would be required, to make goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s arrival permanent in the summer.
The info comes courtesy of Sport, who point towards Chelsea demanding a fee in the region of €25 million for their on-loan shot-stopper.
Kepa, for his part, is keen for an agreement to be reached between the two clubs, hopeful of extending his stay in Spain’s capital into next season and beyond.
As things stand, however, as much looks altogether unlikely.
This comes amid the unsurprising confirmation that the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu have been left unconvinced by the displays put forth by the Spanish international across the season to date.
With Kepa set to turn 30 later this year, and Thibaut Courtois expected to be back available for selection over the summer, splashing out €25 million on an underperforming backup has in turn been deemed ‘too risky a bet’ for Real.
Kepa, as a result, is in line to return to Stamford Bridge upon the expiration of his loan terms in June.
