Real Madrid have the necessary funds to complete a deal with PSG for Kylian Mbappé

Real Madrid want to bring Kylian Mbappé (24) to the Santiago Bernabéu as early as this summer and have the necessary funds to complete a deal with PSG, according to a report from Goal. The France skipper’s short-term future is up in the air after sending a letter informing Les Parisiens that he would not, under any circumstances, exercise his option to extend his contract until 2025. As it stands, Mbappé will be a free agent next summer. On Twitter, the 24-year-old denied a report from Le Parisien stating that he would like to join Real Madrid this summer. He went on to reaffirm his desire to play for PSG next season.

However, the Ligue 1 champions have no intention of allowing Mbappé to leave on a free transfer next year, and Les Parisiens are expected to transfer-list their marquee player. Goal understands that the Ligue 1 champions won’t sanction Mbappé’s departure for a transfer fee lower than €180m. The outlet reports that Real Madrid would be ready to meet PSG’s demands, despite their recent €103m outlay to sign English midfielder Jude Bellingham (19). Los Blancos reportedly have enough financial room for manoeuvre thanks to the departures of Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema, who have considerably reduced the club’s wage bill.
