Real Madrid are confident of signing Manchester United youngster JJ Gabriel, per Spanish outlet Diario AS.
Gabriel recently asked to leave United and have his registration. However, United have reportedly offered him a scholarship contract.
Gabriel’s situation has caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Madrid are the favourites to sign him. They have informed United’s management of their interest and have made an offer to Gabriel’s representatives.
The massive media attention on a 16-year-old who is yet to make his first-team debut may be surprising, but his performances for United’s youth teams suggest he is set for a bright future.
The talented forward scored 23 goals in 23 appearances in the U18 Premier League in 2025-26. He was named the Red Devils’ Young Player of the Year.
Gabriel marked his UEFA Youth League debut this season with a hat-trick in United’s 5-0 win over Sabah.
The English footballer can play a variety of attacking roles, including as a number ten, left winger and centre-forward.
Gabriel is highly rated for his close control and dribbling skills. His main weapons are his excellent shooting and finishing.
Losing him would be a blow to United, but it is clear the teenager wants a new challenge elsewhere.
