Joselu is now a step closer to completing his move to Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that personal terms for the player were agreed last week.
With club captain Karim Benzema leaving to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad, Los Blancos have identified Joselu as one of two possible forwards to join Madrid this summer.
Joselu scored 16 goals in 34 La Liga appearances for Espanyol last season, netting in both league games against Real Madrid, as per Opta.
The striker was, however, once deemed a flop, during his spell in the Premier League with Newcastle United, having scored a total of 10 league goals across three seasons with the Magpies. But, his stock has risen considerably in Spain since that period.
The 33-year-old was purchased by Real Madrid from Celta Vigo back in 2009. He became a prolific goalscorer for the B team, where he scored 40 times in 72 appearances. Now, he could find himself returning to the Spanish capital as part of the Real Madrid rebuild.
