Real Betis and Dani Ceballos, a transfer story that increasingly seems as old as time. The 28-year-old midfielder has been a long-term target for Los Verdiblancos, who are hoping to bring back the Spanish international to his hometown club.
Ceballos is unhappy with his minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, feeling he is not getting enough opportunities, and thus is open to a move away. According to MD, Real Betis will make a last-ditch move for him on transfer deadline day.
Their chief obstacle will be that Real Madrid are demanding €20m for Ceballos, and do not seem to be looking to negotiate that price either. Los Blancos have their doubts about letting Ceballos go during a long season, and after losing Toni Kroos. So far he has featured for just six minutes in their opening four games, although Carlo Ancelotti has seen little opportunity to rotate, given their struggles in their start to La Liga.
