Sky Germany reports RB Leipzig have a list of strikers that they are scouting due to a possible departure of André Silva in the summer.
Previously, Leipzig are currently interested in Arsenal’s Florian Balogun who is currently on loan at Stade Reims but the €40m that Arsenal would like for the 21-year-old is seen as too expensive. The same can be said for Lille’s Jonathan David who could cost €65m.
Leipzig have looked at alternatives as a precaution. The first is Victor Boniface of Union Saint-Gilloise, the 22-year-old has scored 20 times and assisted 10 in 49 games for the Belgian side this season. However, Leipzig will face competition from Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt for the Nigerian. Boniface is currently valued at €6m by Transfermarkt.
RC Lens striker Loïs Openda is another alternative. The 23-year-old has scored 17 goals for Lens this season as they currently sit third in Ligue 1. The Belgian is currently valued at €20m having joined Lens from Club Brugge last summer.
Since moving from Frankfurt in 2021, Silva has been unimpressive in front of goal-scoring 26 in 93 appearances for Leipzig and looking a long way off of the striker that Leipzig paid €23m. Lately, he has also lost his place with Timo Werner finding his form again.
