On Sunday morning, PSV confirmed that Xavi Simons had left their training camp to complete a return to Paris Saint-Germain. According to Fabrizio Romano, Simons could leave the Parc des Princes on loan if both Neymar and Mbappé remain at the club. In this scenario, RB Leipzig would like to bring the Dutch forward to Eastern Germany.
Paris will be keen to ensure that, by re-signing Simons, his impressive progress over the past year with PSV isn’t stunted due to a lack of playing time in the French capital. Therefore, a loan move makes sense for all parties if competition for places in the forward line remains the same with Mbappé’s future in Paris currently unclear.
RB Leipzig are pushing to bring him to the Red Bull arena on loan upon the completion of his move from PSV to PSG. Any decision on whether the Dutch international will be able to leave Paris on loan is expected to be made on Tuesday. Simons is expected to complete his move to PSG for €6m imminently.
