Rangers watching Panathinaikos right-back Giannis Kotsiras ahead of the summer

Rangers are interested in Panathinaikos right-back Giannis Kotsiras, reports Glasgow World.

The Scottish Premiership club are looking to bolster their squad in the summer having failed to challenge Celtic this term.

Rangers already have James Tavernier as their first choice in the position.

However, manager Michael Beale wants another quality right-back and Kotsiras is on his radar.

The Light Blues will send first-team development coach Harry Watling to Athens to assess the Greek international.

Panathinaikos have five league games left this term, and Rangers will watch Kotsiras when they face AEK Athens or PAOK Thessaloniki.

The 30-year-old can also play further up the pitch on the right wing, and he has the necessary experience to excel at Ibrox.

Kotsiras is out of contract in 2024, and Panathinaikos could be forced to cash in on him in the summer.

The club are eyeing their first Greek Super League title since 2010 and are top of the table.

However, just a superior goal difference separates them from AEK.
