PSG want to recruit a central defender in the January transfer window

According to Fabrice Hawkins, PSG are planning on recruiting reinforcements in central defence in the January transfer window. With Presnel Kimpembe not expected to be available for selection in the near future, Les Parisiens are hoping to strengthen their options at centre-back when the window opens.

Paris secured the signings of Milan Škriniar and Lucas Hernandez in the summer transfer window, both of whom predominantly feature at the heart of defence. However, Nuno Mendes suffering an injury has seen Hernandez play lots of football at left-back. Marquinhos has also suffered injuries this season before making his comeback in PSG’s latest victory against Nantes.

Kimpembe is not expected back in January despite returning to collective training in November and neither is Nuno Mendes, who is currently in Portugal undergoing his rehabilitation. Consequently, Luis Enrique sees this as an area required for reconstruction in the upcoming winter window. It could be a busy January at the Parc des Princes with Luís Campos confirming that Les Parisiens are also targeting the capture of Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo.
