PSG Troyes interrupted by flares thrown onto pitch

The match between Troyes and PSG was interrupted on the 14th minute due to pyrotechnics being thrown on the pitch in protest over the treatment of Ultra groups in France.

Supporters, whether from Troyes or PSG, launched these pyrotechnics in the vicinity of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s goal. However, the exact origin of the projectiles remains to be determined according to RMC Sport

Prior to the match, chants of “liberty for ultras” were heard from outside the stadium. Over a hundred PSG supporters, affiliated with the Collectif Ultras Paris, were present, eagerly hoping to enter the stadium before kickoff while being monitored by law enforcement.

The PSG ultras, who had been barred from attending matches following protests outside Neymar’s residence, made the journey to Troyes to support their team, albeit to no avail. The majority of the Collectif Ultras Paris members were even prevented from progressing beyond a toll exit on the motorway.

Five buses had initially departed for Troyes in the late afternoon, but the vast majority of supporters were left stranded. Despite the setback, around a hundred loyal PSG fans gathered outside the stadium using alternative means of transportation.

After a brief interruption, during which the stadium announcer took to the microphone to warn of the consequences of further interruptions, the match swiftly resumed as Christophe Galtier’s side went 6 points ahead at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
