PSG target summer move for Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae

Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs interested in a summer move for Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae, reports Foot Mercato via La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The South Korean defender has taken Serie A by storm this season, establishing him as one of the best centre-backs in Europe – which was even concurred by manager Luciano Spalletti.

A colossus in the defence, the 26-year-old has been pivotal behind the Partenopei’s fairytale run this season – 19 points clear at the top of Serie A and are one of the favourites for the Champions League.

Kim has been as instrumental as talismanic names Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and his stellar form has caught the attention of top European clubs.

It has also been added that the South Korean international has a special release clause in his contract, which will allow the clubs to sign him for around €60 million. Most importantly, the clause will be valid only between the 1st and 15th of July this summer.

The peculiar clause is said to have been included to facilitate Kim with an exit if he wishes to leave the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Recent reports have stated that the Partenopei are open to selling Kim as they feel they can’t keep hold of all their prized assets in case of tempting offers.

However, the former Fenerbahce star has refused to speak on his exit links, stating that he is focused on the current campaign with the Partenopei.

PSG have added Kim to their list of potential defensive targets for the summer, having already reached an agreement for the free transfer of Milan Skriniar in the summer.

Besides Les Parisiens, Manchester United have also registered their interest in the sturdy centre-back, with the futures of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof hanging in the balance.
