PSG star Lionel Messi agrees to join Al-Hilal this summer

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Argentina star Lionel Messi.

He is likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer with his current contract at the Parc des Princes set to expire in June.

The 35-year-old was recently given a two-week suspension by the French giants for missing a training session to fly to Saudi Arabia.

He later apologised for his behaviour on his Instagram account, suggesting it was an honest mistake. However, it is highly unlikely the Argentine will sign an extension in Paris.

Messi has been linked with a return to Barcelona, while a host of other top teams have also been credited with an interest.

However, it looks the experienced forward will be heading to Saudi Arabia to play in the Pro League.

According to a report from El Chiringuito, Messi has accepted an offer from Al-Hilal to join them this summer.

In order to convince the 35-year-old, the club have reportedly made offers for his former teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Busquets will become a free agent at the end of this campaign, while Alba has a year remaining on his current deal at the Camp Nou.

Messi’s move to Riyadh would see him face his old foe Cristiano Ronaldo who currently plays for Al Hilal’s rivals Al Nassr.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi outfit in January after mutually terminating his contract at Manchester United. So far, he has made 15 appearances in all competitions for his side, with 12 goals and two assists to his name.
