Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are accelerating with a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to RMC Sport.
Les Parisiens want a number nine this summer and have the 29-year-old on their transfer shortlist, even if they know that pulling a transfer off will not be easy.
A representative of the Parisian club went to England last week to discuss with the North London club and the player’s entourage. There will be another meeting between the player’s camp and PSG this week.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy does not want to sell and will make things difficult for suitors. He has already scared off Manchester United from pursuing his star striker.
German champions Bayern Munich have submitted two offers for Kane, but Levy has rejected them and demands £120 million. Die Rekordmeister have Kane atop their striker shortlist, but they don’t want to go that high for him.
The report says that the England international captain has given his yes to Bayern, but they are not close to agreeing a deal with the club.
Enter PSG. They want to see if they can test Levy’s resolve with a €100 million offer. They need a centre-forward and have eyes on the Walthamstow-born striker.
PSG believe that Kane agreed a salary of around €12 million yearly to join Bayern. They are confident they can blow that sum out of the park.
However, they have an alternative if they cannot sign the Englishman. They have Dusan Vlahovic as the next name on their transfer shortlist.
The Serbian wants to leave Juventus after an underwhelming time in Turin but is yet to receive a concrete approach from any club. PSG could move for him if they cannot get Kane.
As for Kane, the striker is ready to tell manager Ange Postecoglou that he is open to all the options regarding his future. The Austrian manager will try to convince his captain to stay in England.
