Paris Saint-Germain could be without Tabitha Chawinga (27) for the league’s playoff final against Olympique Lyonnais on Friday after the Malawi international suffered an injury to her abductor.
According to L’Équipe, the injury prevented Chawinga from training with the rest of the team this morning at the PSG campus, and instead, she worked on individual drills under the watch of the medical staff. Despite this, the forward will travel with the rest of the squad to Lyon this afternoon as PSG risk waiting until the final minute before deciding on whether they will allow her to play or not.
It speaks to how influential Chawinga has been this season that PSG will give her every possible opportunity to make a recovery in time for their grudge match tomorrow evening. The forward has had a stellar season which was recognised by her fellow athletes when they awarded her the UNFP D1 Player of the Year.
