Crisis is brewing at PSG. The league leaders have lost their last two Ligue 1 home games, against Rennes (0-2) and Lyon (0-1) and seen their lead at the top reduced to six points, with nine games left to play. PSG have lost eight games since the turn of the year. Les Parisiens haven’t had a start to the year this disappointing results-wise since 2001, when the squad, notably made up of Mauricio Pochettino, Mikel Arteta, Jay-Jay Okocha or Nicolas Anelka, lost nine times in 18 games. Pressure is building on PSG boss Christophe Galtier, who has reportedly been given two more games to turn the situation around and secure the club a record 11th league title.
Galtier was PSG Sporting Advisor Luis Campos’ choice to succeed Mauricio Pochettino last year. However, the relationship between Galtier and Campos, which peaked when the duo had led Lille to a shock Ligue 1 title with Lille in 2021, has rapidly deteriorated, according to a report from Le Parisien. The outlet reports that the Frenchman did not appreciate the Portuguese director’s heated exchange with the players in the PSG’s dressing room a fterlosing to Monaco. One can also believe that Campos’ touchline antics against Lille at the Parc des Princes did not go down well with Galtier.

However, Campos is also blaming Galtier and his entourage for the incessant criticisms he is enduring regarding PSG’s underwhelming transfer windows. The outlet reports that, if PSG were to lose out on winning the Ligue 1 title, the Qatari owners would likely sack Campos as well as Galtier.
