Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund has been one of the most in-form strikers in Europe since the turn of the year. He has been netting goals for club and country.
Premier League sides Arsenal and Newcastle United have noticed his exploits and are interested in him, according to TMW. They are both considering summer moves for the centre-forward.
Hojlund only joined La Dea last summer from Sturm Graz. He had graduated from FC Copenhagen’s academy, making his first team debut before moving to the Australian Bundesliga side for €1.8 million.
The 20-year-old took his time settling in Italy, but he has got going and looks like quite the talent.
Hojlund has now recorded seven goals and two assists in 23 league appearances for Atalanta. He has also netted once in two Coppa Italia games.
His impressive form earned him a call-up to the Denmark men’s national football team. They started their 2024 European Championship qualifying campaign with a game against Finland on Thursday.
Hojlund got the start and netted a sublime hat-trick to mark his debut. He was electric throughout the game and could have added more.
Besides the Premier League duo, Serie A clubs are also interested in the young striker. Napoli and AC Milan are keeping tabs on his development in Italy.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could be on the move this summer. The Partenopei could turn to Hojlund to replace the Nigerian international.
AC Milan have aging strikers Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They brought Divock Origi on a free transfer, but he has not impressed the Rossoneri. They will likely be looking for a new centre-forward to lead their line.
Hojlund will cost interested parties no less than €40 million. He is one of Atalanta’s prized assets, and they’ll want to get as much as possible for the exciting striking talent.
