RB Leipzig host leaders Stuttgart in their first home game of the 2023/24 season on Friday night. The Saxony club will be looking to make amends for their opening day defeat against Bayer Leverkusen this weekend and they come into this game with an almost full strength squad.
With Péter Gulácsi still awaiting his comeback following a serious injury, Janis Blaswich will keep his place in goal. Benjamin Henrichs has impressed at right-back which likely sees a defensive partnership of Mohamad Simakan and Willi Orban, but another option centrally would be Castello Lukeba, who joined the club this summer from Lyon.
Nicolas Seiwald suffered a difficult debut and could be replaced by Kevin Kampl alongside Xaver Schlager- more so given Amadou Haidara is yet to return from injury.
Marco Rose is expected to name the same front four that started against Bayer Leverkusen: Xavi Simons, Dani Olmo, Timo Werner and Lois Openda. From the bench, Christoph Baumgartner, Fabio Carvalho and Benjamin Šeško remain options in attacking areas.
Predicted RB Leipzig XI vs Stuttgart
Janis Blaswich – Benjamin Henrichs, Mohamad Simakan, Willi Orban, David Raum – Xaver Schlager, Kevin Kampl – Xavi Simons, Dani Olmo – Lois Opena, Timo Werner.
